The export awards of DHL, one of the biggest shipping company in this country, were awarded in Zofin in Prague on May 25, 2000. 150 companies were assessed in the competition for the best exporter. Plastika, the production cooperative, Kroměříž was ranked on the excellent 6th place and received "Special acknowledgement" from hands of the chairman of the jury, Karel Schwarzenberg.
DHL export awards 2000 were awarded already for the third time in the competition intended for small and medium business companies, cooperatives and individuals which can pride themselves upon the export on foreign markets. The best exporters are selected by the independent jury on the basis of clear criteria – multiple of the relative and absolute value of the annual export growth of the company.
The production of plastic injection moulded components for the computer and automotive industries represents the main program of Plastika, namely computer keyboards, plastic components of car interiors, components for printers and copying machines are concerned above all.
World-famous giants such as Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Sommer Allibert, Mannesmann VDO, Lexmark International or Xerox Manufacturing belong among the most important customers. Plastika exports up to 80 per cent of production above all in Germany, France, the Netherlands and Great Britain. The company has started to export products also in the USA and Mexico in this year.
The company devotes considerable effort to quality and protection of the environment. It is certified according to the standard ISO9001 since 1996 and then also according to the standard QS9000 (automotive industry) and from this year, according to the environmental standards ISO14001 by which it is classified among the first 50 companies in the Czech Republic which have obtained this certificate.
230 employees are employed in Plastika Kroměříž and the annual turnover of the company should reach 600 million Czech crowns in this year.
