Plastika VD Kromeriz recorded a year-on-year growth in gains by 38% to a CZK one half-billion according to preliminary results.
The profit of the Czech plastics producer grew threefold to CZK 9.5 million. Although profits grew the differences in the exchange rate against the dollar mainly projected negatively in costs. This is because the company imports some of the components from east Asia. Miroslav Kundera stated this to reporters yesterday. The year-on-year growth in gains according to Kundera reached the total production for the year 1995 at a calculation of about 20 employees less. "Production of computer components and keyboards played a role in increasing output. Construction of these products reached 48% of the total production of the company. The startup of production of plastic parts for peripheral computer accessories for the supranational company Flextronics was sharply projected in the third quarter", added Kundera.
Company exports formed roughly 73% of the output and went mainly to Germany, the Netherlands, France, USA, Mexico and Great Britain. Last year's company investment reached CZK 18 million, and among the main ones, Kundera mentioned the injection machine with manipulator for nearly CZK 9 million. At the end of last year Plastika VD had 248 employees, of which 57% are persons with limited working capacities.
