We have now started producing plastics parts using a new production technique Nitrogen Gas Assisted Injection Moulding (nitrogen GAIM).
In July 2005, we commenced production of certain plastic components using a new production technique - Nitrogen Gas Assisted Injection Moulding – and are now in production.
The patent-protected technology principle, consist of filling the cavity with molten plastic, but in addition, nitrogen is injected into the mould at high pressure. The injected nitrogen gas creates a lighter, yet strong finished component.
Nitrogen Gas Assisted Injection Moulding (Nitrogen GAIM)
One of the advantages of nitrogen gas assisted moulding lies in the ability to produce parts with thicker walls. For conventional injection moulded component parts that required thick walls, this would have involved longer production cycle times and difficulties with the finished appearance. The other significant advantage of this new technique lies in the saving of material consumption.
Nitrogen GAIM equipment has two main features. First the production of nitrogen gas and then pressurising it to as much as 350 bar. Secondly by controlling the feed of molten plastic and dosing it with the correct amount of nitrogen into the mould.
Plastika has invested well over 3 million CZK in equipment for this process, and the necessary patent license. Our continued commitment to providing up to date technological solutions for our many customers will enhance the confidence that exists between us, broaden the range of component availability and help the company to secure new orders.
